Summer 2022 Quarterly Meeting |

For our summer CAT meeting, we will be gathering at the Rock Church on Thursday, August 4th at 6:30pm for a showing of “STOLEN." This documentary is an expansive series about the sex trafficking and exploitation of children in San Diego County and beyond. Told from the perspective of survivors, advocates -- even pimps, and sex buyers, “STOLEN” celebrates the strength of survivors and their families, as they struggle to break the bonds of sex trafficking. The documentary is the product of a year-long investigation by NBC San Diego Anchor/Reporter Monica Dean and Executive Investigative Producer Tom Jones. We will be joined by a live panel of local experts, following the documentary showing, for a live Q&A.
This event will be in-person, with a Zoom link available for those who would like to attend virtually.

Spring 2022 Quarterly Meeting
For our spring Churches Against Trafficking meeting, we were joined by Dr. Sandra Morgan for a conversation on her recent book, Ending Human Trafficking: A Handbook of Strategies for the Church Today. In this conversation, Dr. Morgan walks us through the resources our churches are already equipped with to participate in the work to end human trafficking. She also empowers us to identify action steps for how to better prevent human trafficking in our local communities.

We heard from Kaitlyn Wilson, Housing Coordinator and Therapist with North County Lifeline, about how homelessness and foster care can create vulnerabilities. Then we heard from Missy Bell, Church and Community Engagement Associate with Olive Crest about how churches can engage in the Safe Families for Children program that provides a continuum of care for youth.
