Get a group together and host a Human Trafficking 101 watch party and discussion

Start your journey by watching this Human Trafficking 101 video to learn more about the scope of the problem. This video is the first step in becoming a part of the solution to eradicate this injustice from our communities. Before you take action, we encourage you to stop, listen to survivors, and learn about the work that is already taking place by trained professionals to fight human trafficking. After you watch the HT101 video, we invite you to follow the action steps below to engage in partnership with organizations in the community eager to change the course of history, one person at a time.

*This video does not equip you to work directly with victims or survivors of trafficking. If you or your church are looking into working with direct services, please contact cat@churchesagainsttrafficking.com to be connected to trauma informed training.

  • Intervene early in a child’s life by preventing the vulnerabilities that lead to recruitment into human trafficking. Explore becoming a Safe Families Church. Safe Families for Children mobilizes families to provide short term hostings to children whose families are experiencing crises. Designed to positively impact and support at-risk families, Safe Families for Children is a non-coercive alternative to the state child welfare system, allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing their children. SFFC is a collaborative effort bringing together a network of churches, ministries, and social service providers for a common goal- to reunite children with their biological parent(s) in a home that is more stable and healthy.
  • Everyone can do something to serve in Safe Families for Children:
    • Host Family- Open your home to provide a safe, loving place for a child to stay while the parents address the issues that have brought instability to their lives.
    • Family Friend-  Wrap host families with burden bearing love through tangible support (meals, transportation, clothing, etc.) while they are opening their homes.
    • Champion- SFFC is possible only through the generous donations of the local community.
